Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S Gets Official Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 Update

One of the biggest problems in the Android community is the fact that not all phones are running the same version of Google’s mobile OS. Of course, this is bound to happen with any hardware running an operating system that is actively updated but it’s still a somewhat annoying point. Annoying because it usually takes hardware manufacturers a decent amount of time to actually push out the latest version of the mobile OS to their consumers.

The Samsung Galaxy Ss, for example, is one extremely popular device that lags behind the rest in terms of Android 2.2 updates. Luckily, if you’re a Vodafone subscriber you’ll be happy to hear that the wireless carrier has announced today that the Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 update is now officially available to all. When exactly the rest of Samsung’s line up of Galaxy S devices will be getting the Android 2.2 update is anyone’s guess but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
